Back to Blog - But Shocked after my Itenary

Hi All, sorry about not blogging for last four days! Eh.. After the my itenary, I have become kinda lazy! Ok ok.. I was always lazy.. but this time.. l became an embodiment of it! (satisfied!)  Hey Shadow.. here is my post..J

It  was a good trip. We (me and my father) we planned to cover most of the temples near the Mailaduthurai, it’s a place in Southern Tamilnadu near to Kumbakonam. We were particular to cover only Dhivya desams, (Dhivya desams  - these are the Temples in which Alwars have sung about the  deties and is a considered sacred among other temples!) So we travelled by Bus and reached Mailaduthurai on Thursday Morning (02 Oct 2003), we got out of the bus and we were welcomed by our driver there, its really good to see some person receive your even in a place where you don’t have any acquaintance. He took us to a decent Hotel, where we took some rest and started off our spiritual journey. Wow! man, you wont believe, we almost covered 12 temples in the day, all were Divya Desams and all were very near to each other, in a 20km radius. It was pretty a strenuous journey, traveling all day long continuously. Then we came back to the hotel. I never closed my eyes to sleep, I didn’t know when I started sleeping, when I opened my eyes it  was 5.00 AM! We were supposed to get up at that time, as our driver would come to the hotel by 6.00AM to take us to some distant temples. I was feeling pretty lazy to get up, so I woke my father up and asked him to alert me once he is ready. So I actually got ready by 6.15AM only, huh, but our driver haven’t yet come to the hotel, he too would have felt very tired and hence the delay. He actually came at 6.30AM , by which time we were in the reception. We went to 3 temples which were located pretty far off from our place. We actually decided to goto “Uppiliappan” temple in Kumbakonam, which is one of my favorite deities. So we vacated the hotel by around 1.00 in the noon and went to Kumbakonam and offered our prayers over there. We then disposed the car and took a bus again to reach Trichy. We stayed in one hotel near to the bustand, actually we had one ritual to be performed in Srirangam on Saturday. When we reached tiruchi, it was almost around 3.00pm, we took rest for 1hour and took a bus and went to Srirangam to visit the famous Ranganathar temple. We had a good dharshan. It was already very tiring. I did a mistake when I was in Mailaduthurai, on Friday, I took water from the one of the hotels! I could feel it having effect in my throat, I don’t know why I am sensitive to water! Even if I take once, I face the problem! My throat goes irk!!!!

Then we finished the ritual on Saturday and retuned back to Chennai the same day. We reached Chennai at 10.30pm. Good to have a mobile and the number of Chennai call taxi. These guys (Chennai call taxi) were really cool. I just fixed a taxi 15mins before I arrived in Kathipara junction in Guindy, the Taxi came in less than 5mins to that place. I could realize the power of the technology, you have phone , you can book a taxi while you are still on the bus, reaching your destination, and you have a taxi ready to serve you when you arrive your destination! Cool one, Chennai has improved a lot. The Taxi driver seemed to be a real decent guy,  he was conversing fluently in English, that too pretty decent English. Was surprised to see a customer oriented taxi drivers.

Then we reached home by 11.00pm and went to bed.. when I woke up next morning.. a shock awaited me…. I never expected it…

ART – a Serious comedy by Evam

It was Sunday and the time was around 5.30pm, I was still lazy, refusing to get up (yeah.. was enjoying sleeping! Usually called my second round!)..Sunday.... its all ought to be enjoyed.. after those tiring week of work, man you must have Sundays to sleep and be lazy.. don’t ask me how active was me during  weeksdays.. thatz  completely a different story, which I don’t want to disclose now (hehe).

I have booked two seats(On Saturday)  for this play held in Sivagami Petachi Auditorium,Alwarpet and the I have promised my sister that I am taking her with me for the play J. But my laziness was raising its horns to cancel the plan.. cause.. I am lazy to get up and goto the show!

Thanks to my sister, she pushed me to attend the play.. for otherwise, I would have missed that splendid display of transcendent humour !

I just loved the way the character “Evan” attributed himself to such a travesty! Wow man.. you were really cool.

Those preposterously boisterous dialects that were performed in the stage was just awesome!  Could it be formed any better??

The performance of  Mr.Mark and Mr.Sudge (I am not sure abt their names) the other two main character’s performance were made out of their utter diligence. This could be asserted from the very fact of their professional display that they scorned out in the stage.

Trapping the audience with a gasp, each scene of the play has a class in itself.  Evan a self-mocking insane (Can I call him insane!), the spendthrift Sudge(Not really) and the piquing Mark(was all times!) were clearly chistled characters that were exhibited in the play.

The story runs around the feelings attributed by friendship but was centered by an art (which is painted on a white background, with a white foreground! – was that a painting or a clear screen J )!

If  evam is gonna present another play next time, they can count me already in!.

Yeah.. I am sure they are gonna get more such  repeat customers.

I Hope they come up with much more hilarious stuffs as good as the play “the ART”.

My wishes to evam team to succeed! Guys you just did a gr8 performance..! And each of those applause that you received are all well deserved J.

I also liked their service, the polite booking of tickets through phone ..and the ticket distribution till the seating arragements all were professionally done.

Hey Evam, am waiting for another play from you ppl :-)

It Seems Yesterday!

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When I winked the first light out
And Heard the first thud !

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When school came across me
And on the walls that we stood!

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When I quit pencil and picked up Pen!

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When I struggled to balance the cycle!

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When Dewali was meant to Crackers
And Friends to play!

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When we smiled those smiles
And walked those gaits..!

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When farewell stood between me and school

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When Seniors frightened juniors

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When mass bunks and nicknames were studies

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When you attended that last lecture.

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When Campus interviews ruled classrooms..
And proud counts of offers.

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When Buisness Card bore me! Proud

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When you fly for the first time..

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
When your passport has no paper left…

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
That you spent more time with parents

It seems just yesterday.. It seems just yesterday
Such an unpretentious being that I were,

Humour - Death hour 11 am every sunday!

Death hour 11 am every sunday!

Here  was this case in the hospital's Intensive Care

ward where patients always died  in the same bed and on Sunday morning at

11 a.m.,

regardless of their medical  condition. This puzzled the doctors and some

thought that it had something  to do with the supernatural. no one could

the mystery.....  as to Why the  death at 11 AM?

So an world-wide expert team was constituted and they decide to go down to

the ward to investigate the cause of  the incidents. So on the next Sunday

morning few minutes before 11 a.m., all doctors and nurses nervously wait

outside the ward to see for themselves what the terrible phenomenon was

about. Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer  books and other holy

objects to ward off the evil........ Just when the clock  struck 11,....

Jhon, the part-time Sunday  sweeper, entered the ward and

unplugged the life support system so that he could  use the vacuum

14th Sept 2003 - Not a Good Day

SMK – A leader who travels by Bus! A former MLA from Tamil Nadu! A gandhian by principle!

Yes, it was around 5.30 AM today 14th Sept 2003, and my phone was ringing. Awakened by an untimely call, we woke up to hear the demise of Mr. S M Krishanan, a family friend of ours. Our Acquaintance dates back to a decade, time provided this great opportunity to meet him, when he was helping lots of social organizations and common ppl.

A person, we would be missing for the rest of our life. A man of a character with unquestionable honesty and straight forwardness, a Gandhian by principle, and a human who lead, a most modest life in Chennai. You could never imagine an MLA to be so modest and so straight forward and still be in politics. Yes you heard it right, he was elected as a Member of Legistlative Assembly from the Tambaram constituency. But when you speak to him or when you see him, he would look so simple that you would never admit that he was an MLA!

I have never come across such modest political leaders who don’t even own a car and travel by bus. (He is currently in charge for the agricultural sector of Tamil Nadu Congress). Call him any time, he is there to help his fellow human beings and make their life peaceful. He has 72 years of experience in this materialistic world, where more than 50% of his life was devoted to social service. A freedom fighter who has actively participated from the Gandhian times.

Lots of things can be said about this great person who lived the Gandhian principles in its truest forms.

Sir, you have left us with those moments that you have spent with us, I could still hear your voice and the pats that you gave me.

You may not be living with us anymore, but those moments that you have spent with us will be guarded heavily in our hearts for the rest of our life.

Thank you God for providing us the opportunity to live along with such great people.

India! You just lost yet another great son of yours.

Jai Hind.

Reading the Greener Pastures on the same side:

Hey.. you know one thing, Amit has got an offer from Miscrosoft.. it’s the  paradise for the software professionals! Once you get into it.. you are in heaven.. there you have great facilities .. a rack of chocolates, dry fruits, in each person’s cabin.. a flexi time, can choose to work from home. And a gr8 sal package! Cant even compare with any other company! See what we are having.. a dirty cabin, no GYM, Swimming pool.. nothing ya.. a very somber place with no fun..!

I used to compare what I am doing(with some of my gr8 friends who were doing gr8 things).. when some of my friends are flying high.. but then after some deep thinking and analysis (actually after I finished the “seven habits of highly effective ppl – by Stephen R Covey”), I realized my goal is something which “I need to set and achieve” and not by looking at other gr8 ppl and follow their foot steps.

One thing I feel currently, is getting satisfied with what one has is a great boon to live peacefully, but if you are already content with what you have, there is no growth for improvement and you become stagnant..  but to strike the balance between the two and to find the right thing for oneslef.. is a trick  in itself..!

So If we start to look not only the disadvantages of the current position in life, but also the advantages and other grrener things that are associated with it. With this vision we would at least be able to choose the right thing for us and decide whatz good to us ! and proceed in that direction!

Is this how one has to lead his life.. I don’t know yet.. but I feel it’s a secure way to lead one’s life towards some target!

Am I rite! Or Am I too confusing! Put in your comments!

What ya Feel?

I was just wondering as to what this world is doing! Why we were born, what we were upto and things like that.. suddenly a mail came to me describing the economics!

Saw that you wud know how I wud have felt after reading that!

World Economics !!

TRADITIONAL ECONOMICS You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull. Your

herd multiplies and the economy grows. You retire on the income.

INFOSYS ECONOMICS You have 2 cows. You put both of them on the bench. And

hire another to do the job.

TCS ECONOMICS You have 2 cows You tell them that only one will go to

onsite. You ask both of them to fight for the only H1B Visa. Both of them

die after fighting.

HCL ECONOMICS You have 2 cows You milk them only for 24 hours on just 7

days a week. They run away.

WIPRO Economics You have 2 cows You train them for two months on how to

milk themselves. Then you ask them to pull bullock carts.

INDIAN ECONOMICS You have two cows. You worship them.

PAKISTAN ECONOMICS You don't have any cows. You claim that the Indian cows

belong to you. You ask the US for financial aid, China for military aid,

British for Warplanes, Italy for machines, Germany for technology, French

for submarines, Switzerland for loans, Russia for drugs and Japan for

equipment. You buy the cows with all this and claim of exploitation by the

AMERICAN ECONOMICS You have two cows. You sell one and force the other to

produce the milk of four cows. You profess surprise when the cow drops

FRENCH ECONOMICS You have two cows. You go on strike because you want three

GERMAN ECONOMICS You have two cows. You reengineer them so that they live

for 100 years, eat once a month and milk themselves.

BRITISH ECONOMICS You have two cows. They are both mad cows.

ITALIAN ECONOMICS You have two cows. You don't know where they are. You

break for lunch.

SWISS ECONOMICS You have 5000 cows, none of which belong to you. You charge

others for storing them.

JAPANESE ECONOMICS You have two cows. You redesign them so that they are

one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk.

You then create cute cartoon cow images called Cowkimon and market them

RUSSIAN ECONOMICS You have two cows. You count them and learn you have five

cows. You count them again and learn you have 42 cows. You count them again

and learn you have 17 cows. You give up counting and open another bottle of

CHINESE ECONOMICS You have two cows. You have 300 people milking them. You

claim full employment, high bovine productivity and arrest anyone reporting

the actual numbers.

My Stay at Bangalore - An official trip but a pleasant experience

Sorry for some irregular blogging(I think this is my second blong! And a huge gap between the first and second!), I am gonna make myself more organized in blogging , try to blog atleast once a week.!  And I am going to follow this(schedule) religiously. So  plz visit me every week to read some of my thoughts and my experiences. This article is about my short stint at bangalore!

Hmm, just went to B’lore on Saturday (6th Sept)  to do some recruitment for our team. This is an official trip sent by HCLT Chennai. We were four panelists who went there to select some candidates. Due to the unavailability of train tickets.. we made our journey thru.. flight!(I wud have loved to !) but  no way.. we traveled in BUS! (Now a days cost cutting in companies is so prevalent that even the panelists are sent in bus.).but thatz Okey.. Traveling in bus is also okey with me. It was a safe journey and we reached B’lore early morning on Sunday. We quickly checked in to a hotel in the infantry road, thank god.. the HR have atleast booked a pretty good hotel, I just loved the interiors, its kinda Italian ambiance maintained. I love those curved chairs and sleuth beds, with perfect match of cusions to rest your head while watching TV. Hmmm.. but I generally dont like Italian cusines! And hate pastas! I don’t know how ppl take such a tasteless.. spongy stuff! Being Indian may be I demand more spicy food.

We didn’t take our complimentary breakfast there(I told you that I don’t like Italian food),so we  went out and had my favourite idly ,dosa and coconut water.. thanks to Mr.Gobi,(one of the panelists) who spotted the coconut vendor.

Then we took an auto and reached the GRG office (where we are supposed to take the interviews), its near the SUN microsysytem’s office. The weather was so perfect, with a slightly cold breeze having a soothing effect on you(the breeze hit us while traveling in an auto). I still like that kinda breeze! Hope to change the geography of Chennai and make its altitude to at least some 2000m above the sea level! So that we chennaities can enjoy the climate of B’lore and that cool breeze!

Then we did the interviews ! ( I don’t want to dwell on this!). We selected some 5 candidates.

Another worst part of this visit, is that of the lunch! Ehh.. we ordered lunch at 1.30 pm and we got our lunch at 3.30 pm.. these guys who do this door delivery were very good service oriented ppl! And worst of all is that he didn’t have any change for my 500 ruppe note! And gave me some gift voucher to  adjust the amount!

I got a severe headache because of the late lunch and  since no candidates were left to be interviewed (ppl who had appointment at 1.30 havent turned up till 3.45), we (myself and Gopi)decided to take a stroll along the road and come back in 10mins! So that out headache will also vanish, still the gentle breeze well alive and we enjoyed it. Within minutes, we reached the hockey stadium there. The stadium was just few yards from the place of interview. There was a local match that was going on, we watched the same for some 5mins. It was really refreshing. Why don’t media sponsor these games, hockey is supposed to be the official sport of our country and in familiarity wise could not even be compared with the cricket. I thin we need to pour more encouragement and support to these good athletes as well. But the ground was really well maintained and the lush green was a treat to our eyes and soon our headaches vanished!

We then finished the rest of the candidates and started back to hotel.  We were supposed to catch our bus which was scheduled to depart at 10.30pm in the evening! W were in the hotel by 7.00pm and we thought we could go to Brigade rd to do some shopping and come back. But then I was too lazy and dropped that idea. Just went inside that cozy bed (I loved that soft cusion).. the AC in the room was just adequate to keep yourself underneath the warmth of the bedsheets. Just slept for some 30mins and got up and called the reception. Enquired whether the distance from this hotel to Kalasipalayam (where we need to board our bus). The stupid receptionist informed us that it will take an hour from the hotel to reach kalasipalayam!

It was already 8.00pm and we haven’t taken our dinner, so we rushed to kalasipalayam and planned to have out dinner there, as it would save time. So took an auto and went to kalasipalayam. It toll less than 20mins from the hotel. Couldn’t yell at the receptionist! She not there with us.. thought .. may be she is new to Bangalore, but she shouldn’t have given an erroneous data if she doesnt know, atleast she should have enquired with some one else about it! We could have spent some more time to have our dinner in the hotel!

Any way, we had our dinner in a hotel there in Kalasipalayam, it was a bit decent one.. not a gr8 one.

And spent our time walking down in the kalasipalayam streets, enjoyed the breeze. There were also beautiful crackers that were lighting the sky, may be the celebrations for the ganesh chaturthy. We watched it, then got into our bus and reached Chennai in the morning!

If you have read this essay till this line, you might be interested in the way I write and you don’t have anything else to do! (just kidding!) .. and one more important inference is .. we need to speak !

Mail me to n_aravinthan@yahoo.co.in, we shall keep in touch…

Do come back next week for my next blog.. till then see ya..
